How do i run my own *online* server?

Ok well i want to host a server *unranked* to play with a few people but i have no idea how to do it. Ive searched and well no luck really.

So anybody know any tutorial or something to run my own damn server?

dont you just use the 'create server' in the multiplayer menu?? if behind a router or firewall, you may have to forward or open ports.

You need to download the unranked server files, http://www.ea.com/official/battlefie.../downloads.jsp

Install it, now thats to run a dedicated unranked server.

did that but nobody sees it on the server list :|

If you can't see it on the server list then you need to open the ports up in your router. That is the only reason it won't show on the list, the ports can be found in the readme.

also why does it show my local ip when i start bf2 server launcher?

well i found my solution
COMCAST & VERIZON DSL SUBSCRIBERS
- Users that have Comcast or Verizon DSL connections may be unable to
host a server. Please contact your service provider.

and im stuck with verizon

I was just about to post that there is 1 other reason, just like you stated some ISP don't allow you to run a server.

If you have say 2 pc's the server pc will have your outside IP But.... to connect to that with your other PC you need to connect by IP using its inside IP.
