multiplayer prob

BF2 works in single player mode fine, but whenever i try to connect to a multiplayer server it freezes on me, i've run a full virus scan, ad-ware etc and can find no problems,
any ideas??

At what stage does it freeze? When you select a map, during the load, while playing?

it freezes right after i click on a server!!
pent 4 3.6GHz 1Gb ram using a X600 256mb graphics chipset

im having the same problem in this thread: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49421 except that my game crashs to my desktop imediatly when I click the join game button.

Right after clicking on a server could be a case where the game has lost your cd-key (but normally it just tries to load a map, fails and drops you back to the browser).

\\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support

Use the Battlefield2_code.exe file to reenter your cdkey. MAke sure you have the key before you run the program as it'll erase the existing one before you even begin the reenter it.

i tried that but it didn't work, so i tralled through the online EA thing and found a solution, regedit etc.
