Hello People
I have searched the forums for a solution to this problem, I have tried solutions to similar problems but to no avail. I have had BF2 and SF running before on my current setup. I had to reformat recently and therefore had too reinstall BF and SF. So after updating all the Vid and sound drivers i installed the Core copy of BF then SF then the 280mb 1.12 patch from the EA site. I then went to run the game and the splash screen came up and then crashed too desktop. i tried again and it loaded up the main menu i just assumed that everything was now fine. I setup my settings i joined a server and sat back waiting too load. I was expecting a wait (because of the Shaders). The load bar paused at 62% as it usually does and stayed there for about 3 mins then crashed to desktop with no message. I tried again it done the same, so i tried a single player and create a server and the same happened here. i uninstalled BF (Cleaning the reg as well) and then reinstalled and ran the core version and this ran fine. i then installed 1.02 patch and it ran fine. then installed the 1.03 patch i ran fine. i then installed 1.12 without SF installed it crashed again. Even with SF (Version 1.1) installed it crashed. I read on the forum that running BF windowed would produce and error message at a crash. and sure enough it did this one:-

I have tried looking for the folders mentioned but cannot find (Are they Suppose to Exist) them plus BF is installed on my C: Drive i do not know if this is related to the later update due to the Flash bang reference.
One of my thoughts is that it my be an DVD install corruption (or patch) of the install Dir on the Hdd?

My setting are usually higher and they did run fine at the higher setting.
