Hey guys. i heard that u could have more than 16 bots on a map. i have tried countless times to get this but it always tells me to find an "ai" folder. i cannot seem to find this. even though i can play SP fine w/16 bots, i cant find the folder that runs this. I NEED HELP PLZZZZZZ PLZZ HELP. Means alot. :)

well lets see, its a mod,
so on total battlefield2 homepage click mods_(left hand side of page).
scroll down and click single player.
for 64 player map click "bf2 sp 64 maps
mod v 1.03"

I'm really sorry but I just can't understand how you can't find a folder named 'ai' but just searching for it?
Increasing Singleplayer Bots
To increase the number of bots used in singleplayer mode, go to your \Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI directory and open the file aidefault.ai with Notepad or Wordpad (make sure to create a backup copy of it first). Read the instructions in the file which basically involves placing the word REM in front of each of the first 5 lines starting with 'aiSettings.set', then removing the REM's in front of the next 4 lines starting with 'aiSettings.set'.
Change the number at the end of the aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32 line to determine the number of bots to use (e.g. aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64 for 64 bots).
Note that more bots can really stress your system and hence destabilize it, causing a crash back to desktop - particularly for those with older CPUs. For example, 64 bots on most systems will cause a crash.

HellFire22651, sorry but either you are 8 years of age or are pretending to be.
Beaing able to open a file with notepad should be a requirement to owning a computer let alone playing BF2.

right click on the file, "choose open with" and go from there. your pc may ask you "choose a program from a list" and then you say yes to that and then you will see a list pop up. choose notepad and there you go.Comment

Actually i figured it out right after i put that in. when i try to play singleplayer, it just crashes to my desktop. i only have 16 bots on! i could play sp fine until i messed with the file...Comment
