Downloader install problem

Ok so im tired of waiting on the EA support people to get back to me and my fellow clan members told me to ask here. I downloaded the downloader so i can install BF2: SF but after install it tries to start the program and i get a microsoft error message that it performed an illegal operation. Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? TIA, i finally have a week off from work and have time to play. fast help would rock.

I'm guessing the download was currupted or something similar.

i have delted and re installed about 6 different times, and EA support isnt helping me out.

You must realise by now that no one can really help you because :

a) I've never heard of any one else with this problem and it seems to be something wrong on your system, not a BF2/EA/DiCE problem.

b) Not knowing the actually error message makes it even impossible to begin to help you.

Not much help around besides people with the same problem. Maybe you could PM them and ask if/how they fixed it?

I have this problem as well, I have seen it on numerous other forums. The only answer I have seen was if you have Internet Explorer 7 beta, uninstall it, supposedly that worked for one person. But I have IE6 .

Anyway EA Support have been useless with this issue, has anyone figured out a fix?

Finally found a solution to this issue ironically due to my DSL going down for the night. :p

Anyway reboot the pc, ea downloader should be in your system tray, turn off your adsl modem, then right click the icon select login. For the first time ever it allowed me to log in, then reconnect and you can sign in. :)

Its actually working for me now at last, SF is slowly downloading.
