    Terrible lag (have searched)

I've searched around, and followed guides, walkthroughs, etc. but I still have extremely bad lag. When I try playing online, there are no servers with pings less than 150, and when I connect to the lowest one, it's typically somewhere that isn't located in the United States. (Usually Germany or some crap like that.) All my video settings are turned down. I have the FX5200 overclocked slightly, but nothing too drastic, and it's lower than the pre-determined "Best speed."

    My Specs:
    2.66 Ghz P4 533MHz FSB
    1.0 GB DDR
    nVidia FX5200 128MB
    80 GB 7200RPM HDD

I do use a router, and I believe I've opened all necessary ports...I have some form of cable through RoadRunner, and my bandwidth tests read in excess of 4.5 MBps.

All of my drivers are up to date. I have been using tweaked drivers for the video card, which perform fine on CS 1.6 and CSS, so I don't see why they wouldn't work with BF2. Also, when I'm in-game, I'll get about 10 seconds of lag, hear repeating audio and then I'll recover from the lag. Once again, I've read most, if not all, of the previous threads...and still nothing. Any help is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it's because you're joining servers with a ping higher than 150. Normally what I do is keep hitting refresh until I find a server with a ping less than 100. Also, BF2 is very sensitive when it comes to overclocking. Try playing without ANY overclocking and see if it helps.
