Basic Transport and Basic Command badge question

If someone could explain these two for me :

Transport - I've sit in an APC for 10 mins on a ranked server and didn't get that badge. Any ideas? Am I supposed to be driver or passanger or any of those will do. Can I also get iot in a transport heli?

Commander - At the end of a round on scorebnoard it showed that I had 69 points but still didn't get the badge. During play my score was 30 or so but when the round ended it jumped to 69. Do i have to get the "first" score to 40 to get the badge before it gets increased by the average of my team?

So is commander's score doubled on the scoreboard after the end of the match? I thought it only gets x2 when it goes into my stats and scoreboard one is not doubled.

Score is 2X if you are commander on winning team and yes the score on the scoreboard is doubled

APC is not considered transport - it is armor.

FAV's, Humvees, Vodniks, boats - are all transport. I think the new jetskis and ATV's are transport as well but I am not sure.

For commander badges - your score before the x2 is what you need. Sounds like you were just short of what you needed.

Any vehicle the driver cant shoot with is Transport, and you dont need a passenger for the badge.
not sure about Jet-Ski's and ATV's but they are transport so should be ok. (only in SF).

Any tips on scoring 40pts in commander mode? Pretty much every time I'm commander I only get around 25 and I pretty much always win too.

Which map and size would you say has biggest potential for team scoring most points?

Be commander on a Wake Island 40+ player map. I can get 100 plus on that map

easiest is to be on a large map (64) with few players. this way the game last a lot longer = more points

ok, WTH is going on. I just got 42 and 54 (yes before x2) and didn't get the Command badge. It was a ranked server. Is there a delay before they show up in BFHQ??? I was in commander mode and didn't see the "thingy" in game when you get it when I got the 42. Later I got 54 and exited commander mode to make sure and nothing showed up but I may not have enough commander hrs for the ribbon. Am I missing something???

You mentioned badge and ribbon; which are you actually looking for? The Basic Command Badge only needs 40 command points in a round but the Staff Officer Ribbon needs 50 and at least 28 minutes as Commander IAR. There's no total hours requirement for either one (I just got both over the weekend with less than an hour of total commander time).

It finally updated and I have the badge. Don't see ribbon but I wasn't paying attention to time (I would thinkn it was 28 mins since it was a whole round on a 64 player server and it ended very close 50-0 or so but I guess I came up short). AT least I have the harder part done which is 50 points IAR. Now just need a round to last 28 mins while being commander.

You MIGHT need to get them in the same round; I notice bf2s.com doesn't show a check mark next to the 50 point requirement for that ribbon in your stats.

You DO need to get them in the same round

A tip...

Time is the isue... both with time IAR DOH... and with getting points...

So, check of Big maps only in your server filters, and then go looking for servers with 20-32 players in them....

Remember you have to restart the game after applying the filter (thnxs Dice)
