Lag in multiplayer but not single

I know the lag problems have propbably been beat to death. but i'm concerned to buy this game as is. i have a athalon 64 3000, with a geforce over clocked 5500 card and a gig of twinx memory. I can play my demo in single player fine but in multiplayer games, unless teh server latency is really low like 60 or so. i can barly even play. i use a cable internet thru wifi which the wifi is the only bottle neck i can think of

Can you try it with a network cable rather than wifi?

Have you updated Punkbuster?

Can you try playing w/o a firewall to se if it makes a difference?

Hey the problem is that you're system is unstable because you had overclocked you're graphicscard. Read this url!!! http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html
Then put you're graphicscard too default settings!! In game graphics settings reduce too a minimum will improve game performance. Online gaming reduce the game play. because the comp must do more work then that you're playing singleplayer games.
I use a AMD 3400 and i got a ATI 9800Pro and my ingame settings are 1024x768, visabilty at 100%, etc at low(off). download the newest video drivers!

that is the stock settings. its from gfg tech, thats what it was called is a 5500 oc or overclocked. lol cheap peices of computer crap i say they are.
