Air Defence, Aviator, Helicopter Badges Help

Hi All, Im new to BF2, juz a coporal... Hence there are some noobie stuff which i might ask... and I appreciate all the help i can get.

Air Defence Badge - According to some, its 5 mins and others 10 mins which is it? I dont know how a mobile AA looks like or a stinger? Anyone can help on that? (Describe how it looks and where can i get one?)
I've stayed on 5 mins at a stationary missile shooting station on various maps. Not quite sure what you call that but does that classify me for that badge cuz till now I've not received it... Thanks. I've also tried playing US on wake island, staying on the carrier, which has a missile shooting stationary gun also, for 5 mins but still failed to win badge. Thanks

Heli & Aviator Badge - When the FAQS say 15 or 10 mins in each in a single round, does that mean acumulated time or must be in the vechicle for 10 mins consecutively, at one go? Or can i go in, get out, die and clock 10 mins in that round? Thanks

This is a TOW

Air defence badge is 5 minutes in an AA vehicle or a stinger emplacement. The point defence guns on the Essex count too.
Ground defence badge is 5 minutes in a TOW launcher or a wall mounted machine gun.

Heli and aircraft badges are both 10 minutes collectively in a round. That means you can fly for 1 minute and crash 10 times.

It does not have to be 5 or 10 mins straight - just has to be the total of 5 or 10 mins - DURING THE SAME ROUND. You are not expected to live for 10 minutes straight sitting in a tow.

Any of the stats that say IAR - means in a round. It also means that whatever it is that is IAR whether it is time, or kills, or whatever - they all do not have to be in a row, back to back. Just sometime during a single round - you have to get that many points, kills, or minutes doing whatever it is you need to.

Make sense?

Oh and in game - difference between a TOW and AA/Stinger - the TOW - is one big green tube looking thing like the picture above - you get one shot before it reloads. The AA/Stinger/IGLA (whatever you want to call them) sites have 2 tubes with a chair in the middle of it. The thin tubes are green with yellow tips - and you get 2 shots before it reloads.

Hi all, thanks for the replies...

So I need to stay for 10 mins in one of those 2 tubes things to gain the air defence award.. As for the helicopter badge, must u be driving it or can u be a passenger? Thanks?

The helicopter badge requires you to be in the vehicle (dont have to be pilot). I would recomend getting in one of the transport choppers (the map I used was Mastour city, I stole the blackhawk, I couldnt fly it so I just held down "w" and tried not to crash, while staying as high as I could go, in bounds. When the marine tickets got to less than 20 I bailed out and also got my airborn badge (the one with the parachute on it). Make sure you take a chopper thats not getting used or sneak and take the enemies. Hope this helps. . . . . Red

You have to be the pilot to get the helicopter badge.

I sucked at flying choppers when I got my badge. If you want the easy way, like what I did, go join a ranked server with like 10 people in it out of say 64, so its going to be a long round.

Then hop in the transport helicopter, preferably a sucky non BH one, and go fly it out into the middle of nowhere, near the out of bounds area. Land, I repeat, land the chopper, and make sure its not on a hill or anything.

Then go away for ten mins and come back and you get your award.

Thats what I did anyways.
