New player with a few questions :D

Hey guys, I was hoping that maybe some of you can help me out with a few questions that I had..

First off, when you press tab to see your stats during gameplay, is that your ping at the VERY right stat? (It looks like a computer icon at the top)

If you leave during a game while it's still going, does it still count your Kills/Deaths?

Is there armor you can get on the game? The reason I ask is because i'll be on the "terrorist" side and shoot someone in the neck twice with a sniper rifle (the semi auto one) and they won't die.. I know BF2 isn't the standard "kill someone with one shot with the sniper rifle" (Unless it's a headshot) but it seems sometimes they take way to many bullets to the chest area.

It's funny but i'll probably look at these questions in the future and go "Man, I can't believe i'm asking these!" Well, gotta learn somewhere. Thanks again guys!

1. Yes that is your ping.

2. If you leave during the game all your stats from the time you were playing is recorded if you were playing on a ranked server.

3. I'm not 100% sure now that you mention it, i always thought it was only the assault kit that had body armor. However now thinking about it the reason spec ops can sprint longer was because they had no body armor, so i'm not sure if that means all except special ops has armor.

As for the sniper rifle, the mec/chinese rifles take 3 body shots to kill and the usmc and the unlockable m95 are two hit body shot kills.

Yes, the Assault, Support and Anti-Tank classes has armour (kevlar vest). The armoured classes have 33% less stamina than the others to balance it out.

Re : Sniper kills
If you play with a high ping, say 100 and above, you will need to counteract your shots. You probably need to aim up as a sniper shot will drop in firing. Im going off memory here as I never really play sniper (Can a sniper confirm this :))

Yes this is correct, on some servers you have to aim (for a head shot) just to the right or just to the left of the ear area. You may need to waste 3 shots to find out which it is. Its different on different servers and sometimes on different maps. Remember a kill is 2 points and a kill assist is one so when you are just starting out try and put at least one shot into all enemy soldiers. You can tell that you hit them they will try and get cover. Also move from location to location, the guys you kill will come looking for you and have an escape route in mind at all times. As a new sniper you probably wont be able to kill anyone going head to head at 20 meters, Its a lot easier to retreat to a new place and try and get kills from there. Hope this helps. . . . . .Red

First off, thanks for the help guys.

You said some people have armor. So the people that don't have armor are easier to kill true?

I JUST unlocked the new sniper rifle, and it seems sometimes the chest goes for one shot. (It says it has VERY HIGH damage while the other US sniper is just HIGH that takes 2 shots) But normally that's about 50/50 on that.

Anyways, I don't mind points or "ranking up" at this time. I just want my kill/death ratio to be higher. Right now im at about 250 kills 370 deaths. I was never the type to make a name and learn on that name then make a PERMANENT name when i'm good. I like knowing that I learned on this name and play good on this name. I did that with Socom II. I was like 600 kills, 800 deaths, and came back and got 1000 kills 950 deaths and went up from there.

The M95 (the sniper weapon you just unlocked) does exactly the same amount of damage as the M24 (standard USMC weapon). There are however two differences...

1. The M95 will go through armoured glass, so you can snipe pilots
2. The M95 is LESS accurate than the M24

as USMC , always use the m24 , the m95 is garbage (unless you plan to sneak into some base and camp the copter spawn lol).

Not exactly right. The M95 has better penatration than the M24. This means, that while it technically does the same amount of damage to a target, it effectivly does more to armoured classes (since the M24 would do less).

Some people say the M95 is useless and since I'm a lousy sniper, I'm not a good one to judge. However, I have seen some people use it very effectively against me! I've caught quite a few headshots from it.

The thing about the Armour classes, it says on the BFHQ tab on the main menu of the game, as u see the soldier classes it will tell u at the bottom if its Heavy or Light, so normaly, if it says Heavy, that means ull have little stamina, while Light is the oppisite. So check for the classes u have a dout for, i know for a fact that Spec Ops, Sniper, and Medic, and i belive one other one have Light armour, which should die quicker then those with heavy armour

I'm starting to wonder if I SHOULD make a new name now.. (Im gettin really behind and it's sucking because it'll probably take forever to get back up haha)

ESPECUALLI not I found out that maybe I should have gotten the new assault rifle rather than sniper:P

Hey, don't worry about falling behind in the beginning, it takes time to learn the game! In the early days I had a very bad k/d ratio myself, but now I've got about 3000 more kills than deaths :) It will come in time and practice!

Do a lot of you stay sniper or assault or whatever or do you switch it around in the same map?

I'm always playing squad leader, so I always select and change class depending on what my squad needs. I'm normally AT though, to protect them from behind against tanks/apcs etc.

I played sniper for the 1st time yesterday, well for real anyway. Only played it once before whilst flying a heli (no never shot anyone out of the heli) to get the basic badge but had never fired a shot with a sniper rifle until yesterday and thats after almost 400hrs play time.

What I have found is the sniper guns are very easy to use. The M95 is so so but the M24 is very good and the SVD is not bad either. I was amazed that I nearly always got 1 shot kills. Now some may say ok that's not hard but I play with a ping of 200 and managed to 1 shot kill lots of guys that were running and bunnyhopping at the same time. I was suprised.

The M24 is very accurate. When I go for a headshot I aim for their nose and they die. When they are running I let them run into my sights then fire and they die.

Even with the SVD I was getting plenty of 1 shot kills, more often than not, when I heard that SVD's require 2 shots to kill, not true.

Take your time though when you aim. Pull the trigger, then if you don't headshot him and they move I usually find they move a little. If you don't fire straight away and say wait maybe 5 secs they will think you can't him them, then simply finish them off. It was an effective tactic which gave them a false sense of security.

I dunno I just found playing sniper was very easy. Seeings how I hear a lot of people bitch and moan about the accuracy/power of the rifles I found the total opposite. Funny though I got knifed once and shock paddled once made me laugh as I'm normally the one who hunts snipers and does the same.
