sound problems...help needed

ive been getting really bad unplayable lag problems since i got a new mobo and ive been trying to figure out whats causing it.

ive now narrowed it down to being a sound problem. when i disable my onboard sound (RealTek AC'97) and run the game with no sound the game runs perfectly. so its definatly sound related

i tryed putting a creative sound blaster live card in to see if that solved it but i got the same lag. i just dont have a clue why this is happening

any help is appreciated

What are your sound setting on? Make sure it is set to software rendering.

sound is on medium on software rendering
