Server Only Lets Players With Unmodified Server Play...

I TRY TO PLAY MULIPLAYER ON BF2 SF AND I GET A MESSAGE SAYING SERVER ONLY ALLOWS PLAYERS WITHOUT UNMODIFIED SERVER TO PLAY?/?? I REINSTALLED THE GAME 10 TIMES AND IT DIDNT WORK SO THEN I UNINSTALLED IT AND WENT TO PLAY BF2 AND THE SERVER WOULDNT LET ME CONNECT IT SAID YOU HAVE AN OLDER VERSSION THEN THE SERVER.AND ALL THE SERVERS THAT WERE RED WERE THE ORIGANAL MAPS IN BF2.help!!!!!!!!!

i just looked at 1.12 but it said i cant play with core players wich i would need to play version 1.1 wich i have.....
