Best settings for X-Fi sound card?

I dont get what CMSS3d does. How do i set that for BF2? There are two options which one is better?

Just curious. My audigy 2 did better bass in the game but i cant seem to replicate that. Either way the sound seems better with X-Fi. :)

I have a X-FI Extreme Music edition. These are my settings. CMSS-3D is for headphones. Much clearer sound.

    1. Game Mode
    2. Speakers-Headphones
    3. EAX effects on 0.0db
    4. cmss3D Enabled both options are on
    5.SPDF/IO 96
    6.24 bit crystalizer 100%
    7. Headphone dection is on

I dont use headphones. So i assume i dont bother changing those?

thanks for the settings help. I set the crystalizer lower because it makes some sounds too sharp over other sounds.

        You don't use headphones? Why?

Adjust the mixer to your liking so you can boost the bass, I have an FPS Fatal1ty paried to Z5500 speakers and it sound schweet.

Same here, BF2 sounds beautiful on this setup :)

I wouldn't set the Crystalizer to 100%, the sound gets a bit too compressed for my liking. I'm keeping it at 25% in Game Mode, 30% in Entertainment Mode.

As for the CMSS-3D, I've got it set to Enabled and Stereo Xpand. I've got EAX special effects set to 0.0dB and turned off the Mixer - I like to let BF2 do its own mixing :)
If you're using headphones, do use the CMSS3D Headphone mode as it somehow enables surround in your headset (sounds crazy, but it works).

I noticed Crystalizer is the reason the bass was suffering. It made the sounds too sharp. :)

              thanks for your help everyone.
