version compatibility

I want to buy the Special Forces add-on.
I have the commander edition of the game (bought on import, as I live in europe) which I think is american. Now as I'm just getting this add-on I'm going for the cheapest possible solution and that would be to get the german version of Special Forces.

Will this prove to be an issue if I try and update a US version with a german version add-on?

Well, if anyone ever has the same issue, as I did, it's fine. You can mix and match your BF2 versions, it makes no difference.
