newb needs help

Hi there

I'm new to bf2 I've had a few matches online but I seriously need to know a few things

First

Where can I see my profile and rank? do I need GameSpy for it?

Second

Why is it that whenever I join a game I always end up as Peoples Army and MEC I can't be USMC.

Last

How do I chat while playing?

I have some questions for you first...
1. Have you played the game before?
2. Do you realize theres a search function incorperated with forums?
3. Would it of been quicker to look for an answer or register a new user ID to post this thread?
4. Ever used the internet before?

2. Probably because the server auto picks the team for you to balance out the teams. When the round ends, just switch teams manually.

3. In game is 'j', 'k' and 'l' (everyone chat, team chat and squad chat respectively). Use X-Fire if you want global chat (gamers MSN ).

global points are the points u earn all the time i think

You get global points by playing on a ranked server.

you can see your points and your rank by clicking on the BFHQ tab in BF2's menu

Some people really seem to get off abusing others or "trying" to make them look stupid but in the end we know who looks stupid.

Ignore him, unfortunately you come across this mentality with some people in the BF2 community but there are people out there who will try and help you.

To earn global points you need to play on a ranked server. To ensure you are playing on a ranked server make sure you have ranked checked in the filter.

You can also communicate using VOIP (Voice Over IP) Obviously you need a microphone setup and you use the B key to talk to your squad (join a squad when you get into the game using the capslock key) and V to talk to the commander but only squad commanders can do this.

The others answered all you need to know about stats.
