You can also take a boat out of the carrier on Daqing (sp?), cruise to the shore near the left flag, and just sit there while you command. Not many use the boats on that map, so you're not taking up a vehicle for your team.
I recommend you play on wake island as US and drive around the Chinese airbase in a Nod Buggy running people over. the 10 mins will fly by what with your hysterical laughter.....

I don't even remember how I got transport. I do drive around in jeeps a lot though. Never been very good at running peeps over. Very funny when it happens though.
