connection speed per user?

I am using comast with a 7mbps.

Does anyone know what BF2 sets it's connection speed per user?
I have a nice network at home and I can set bandwidth per computer on my network and I want to set my game machine to suck the most bandwidth but don't want to waste any speed so that my other systems can still use the net.

Any ideas?

My speed is 54 Mbps, but im having a lot of problems with the game. It lags like crazy, and even with good speed, my ping is like 350. How can i bring my ping down.

That's not your internet speed, 54 Mbps is you wireless local connection speed. Try choosing servers close to your city, not somewhere really far.

If you try and set bandwidth per user you will run into more problems then you are wanting. You should run about 20 computers nicely one a 7mbp connection. If you just run it, your router should do all the work for you.

The BF2 server has been reported to have the following bandwidth requirements:

* 32 players: 5Mb/s
* 40 players: 6Mb/s
* 64 players: 8Mb/s

Clients seem to use about 60-80Kb/s
