    Abnormally long loading times.

    A few days ago I installed another GB of RAM along with a new graphics card (GeForce 6800 GS to replace my GeForce FX 5900, great card), I also reinstalled Battlefield 2 and this time I installed in on one of my S-ATA drives.

    The problem I have is that all loading times have actually increased! Verifying client data have nearly doubled in time, I have no idea why this is happening. Just about everyone who have had upgraded to 2 GB of RAM the loading time has descreased.

    Total loading time: 2 minutes 18 seconds
    Verifying Client Data: 1 minute 5 seconds (earlier it was 27 seconds)

    The system specs are as follows:
    P4 2.6GHz, 800 MHz FSB
    2x 512 MB Samsung DDR-400 3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz, running at 2.5-3-3-7 @ 160 MHz
    2x 512 MB Corsair Value DDR-400 2.5-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz, running at 2.5-3-3-7 @ 160 MHz
    XFX GeForce 6800 GS 256 MB AGP @ 325/1000
    160 GB Seagate S-ATA -> Battlefield 2 install, Paging file 1 GB.
    180 GB IBM/Hitachi IDE -> System
    Asus P4C8000-E Deluxe

    Settings used: All High except, Dynamic shadow & light set to low and off. FSAA is disabled. Viewdistance at 100%.

    I've forwarded all ports, updated punkbuster before starting BF2, tweaked AGP aperture setting, defragged both used drives.

    Anyone know what I can do to decrease the loading time?

    Kinda dumb question...but with all the new drivers and chnaging drives new installed hardware did you defrag?

        Sorry missed that on the first read. When you change your ram your page file should match...May want to change it to 2048mb Or mabe yank 1gig of ram try loading again see if it goes back to the faster load times will give you an idea if it's using the ram right.

          I had it at 2 GB earlier, but it gave me a performance loss when doing just about everything. Seems like XP doesn't like that amount of available memory.
