Ok, i get this game for christmas, and i load up BF2.The logos & videos run smoothly, then it says, "Welcome to Duty!".Then it freezes on that screen for about 5 seconds, and it goes black, then to the menu.It keeps on doing that cycle. (Goes black, goes to menu, freezes.)

I'm about to waste my money that it took 3 years to earn, on a new graphics card.SOOOOO....can i get some help on how to fix this?

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz.
System Memory: 1016RAM.
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c.
Video Card: Radeon 9250 (ATI Technologies Inc.)
Video Card Memory: 256MB

Set your AGP to 4X in your BIOS....

dont expect much from that 9250 its really a low end card

Forget it. We use those cards at work, and they really are great for desktop related work. Like Word processing, watching movies, browsing the net etc.
But in order to play BF2 you'll need something a little bit more powerful than a Radeon 9250. I play BF2 at work sometimes, and had to install my old Radeon 9800 Pro on my machine so I could play.

Go for the NVidia 6800/7800 series if you want to spend some $ on a decent new card. I own a 6800GT at home, and BF2/SF run great.

One more thing. If you wan't your box to run BF2 smoothly you'll probably have to invest in a Pentium 4. Your Celeron 2.80 will be bottlenecking the good GFX card.

PCI? Ouch!

anyway, the bios, when you start up your computer, it will say something at the beggingin like "hit f2, or Del, or f10" (it depends) to enter setup, or BIOS. SO hit that button quickly, and then your in the bios. But if its PCI, im not sure you can do much to make it work better.

Are you kidding me?So, i'm guessing that i have to buy a new motherboard, (that supports AGP)and the video card that you suggested?Wow, I feel stupid .

if your getting a new motherboard, get one that supports PCI express, not AGP. AGp is old and doesnt perform as good, and all the new cards being made are for PCI express. but, if you want to keep your processer you might have to get an AGP one. Its a long and hard and confusing process, thats why I saved for a long time to build a completly new computer. But you might not be able to do that

STOP! dont talk about mother boards! It has nothan to do with that! It's ur video card! I have a RADEON 9200 and i had the same problem. And I read on the EA technical support that the 9200 wasn't sucessful for their testing. So I had to get and new video card. So i got the 9600 then bam! It started to work. Other words, u need a new video card. Try to go for a Nvidia. Trust me. And if ur willing for the best gameplay you could imagine, go for the GeForce 7 series (GeForce 7800)!

You are an idiot. His MOBO only supports PCI video cards.... That's why he needs a new MOBO.... Yes the video card is the problem, but in order up upgrade the the vid card he needs a new MOBO...

I do not know of any RAdeon 9250 that runs on a PCI slot.
A lot of people confuse PCI and PCI-Express...
I don't think he needs a new motherboard.

9250 was developed way befor PCI-e. It is a PCI card.

My Friend had 9250 like you have and then he got a PCI GeForce FX 5500 And It Played Fine He Can Play it in 800x600 fine with low and medium grapchis
