bf2 crashes or comp restarts

i have had bf2 since it came out in july, and i have been able to play fine on it with my computer and i uploaded my specs. but ever since about 2 weeks ago when i reformatted my computer with a copy of my xp disc, its been running pretty bad either graphics lag or my computer will just randomly restart when im connecting to a server or about to connect to a server. now i reformatted it again using a different xp disc and my computer keeps restarting on its own or sometimes my bf2 will just crash when im connecting to a server. does anyone know if something is wrong with my motherboard or any hard ware in my computer? its so wierd because it didnt start doing this until i reformatted with my xp disc about 2 weeks ago and now everything is screwed.

Did you reformat or did you do a disk defrag?

ive done both reformatted with 2 different xp disc's and a disk defragmenter too.

now everytime i connect to bf2 with all settings on medium except texture on high and dynamic light and shadows on low texture filtering on low and anti aliasing off it will just crash at 49% everytime then if i put settings to medium my computer will restart.

welcome to the damn club. But man, ur luckey! Ever since i downloaded that damn v1.12 patch, my computer is ****ing up really badly. It will go to blue screen and say a dumb error mesage that doesn't make sence when I run any application/game. But I could play a game in a server for only 5 minutes without screwing up. And im also pretty sure that my video card has to do something with this. But other then that, im ****ed!

What are your specs? CPU, mobo, ram, psu, vid card.....
