I finally got SF to run correctly!!

Yep, all I had to do was blow a bunch of money on a brand new gaming rig. I'm really angry that you have to have this kind of machine to run this game correctly. They should have warned people about that before they released the expansion. But it seems like the people that are running the AGP video cards are having the most trouble, especially the BFG flavor.

Anyway, with the configuration below, even Warlord runs really really well with no stuttering. Now I see why all you guys like that map so much!!! I didn't build this PC just for this game, but it's certainly nice to be able to play it with everything cranked up!!

i think allot of people knew u need to have a really good comp to run bf2 SF and vanilla smoothly

I was afraid this post would come off as bragging, but it's really not. I had to sell my soul to get this computer. It's just that I, and a lot of other people on this forum, have tried running this game on machines that we thought were much higher than the recommended requirements with not much luck. It's been an ongoing saga. There are games out there that look as good or better than this one that ran very smoothly on my old PC at all the highest settings.

I also want to make it clear that there are faster machines out there than my new one. My point was that we as a community of PC gamers should not have to have this high end of a machine to run a game that was developed to run on a lot lower system specs.

Nice system, ready to upgrade to 2x7800's too.... (I wouldn't bother though). I prefer that this game needs good computers, or we'd all still be playing pong.

That's a good point. I probably won't be going up to SLI until I feel that the software demands it, but I can't believe how easy it is to hook up!!
