Re: Bored already?
Well, I did notice that my gaming sessions are wayyy shorter now than back to this summer, and that's not because I have less time. I play a round or two, then, I'm like wtf, what's the point of this, I seem to have less fun than in the beggining. Hopefully some total conversion mods could change that.Comment

Re: Bored already?
I've been trying out different stuff--that's part of what makes BF2 fun. I've been goofing around on Karkand, when I find a server where the Elite_Ayholes don't pack 6 Engi's in an APC, followed by a tank, followed by a stolen APC (escorting 6 more engi's), followed by a stolen tank.
I've been scoping out spots to snipe, spots where it's handy to put an assault kit, and goofing around with the jihad jeep concept.
SF has been fun. I've got an ATI x800xt AIW, so I've been sticking to servers with day maps (the night maps using ATI drivers have screwed up lighting when using NVG). Ghost Town is pretty neat (first goals: cap the enemy arty island, then cap the attack heli spawn point--the primary goal should NOT be to jump in the blackhawk/execute a tk war for the drivers/gunners seat. Doofusses!) I still like Warlord--all sorts of different things to try (jihad quadrunner!) in that one (primary goal--cap and hold the first point to the left of the tower, and shoot down the SAS paratroopers using the gun mounted in the technical.)
Having said that, yeah. I get burned out sooner, if I find myself in a "bad" server, I'm more likely to quit than I was back in the summer/early autumn/after release of SF. Whenever Civ4 or Age of Empires III comes down in price, I may have to do some serious soul searching over whether I REALLY need to put in the time to get those last four (vBF2 + SF) unlocks.
It's still fun, but I'm much more picky about the kind of rounds that I'll stay and play, whereas before it ultimately didn't matter--run and gun, die, lather, rinse, repeat--it was all fun and new when BF2 first came out.Comment
