That makes sense, because you don't run around holding hand grenades much, you just throw them and switch back to your weapon, not much time to kill you.

for me, i did hold the grenade and run around sometimes when i was playing support. my best nade kill round was 31 nade kills and no death. (35 in total, so i did remember how many kills were from guns, i got revived a couple of times though).

so my nade K/D turns out to be Kills: 1,778; Deaths: 481; Ratio: 3.70.

i dont have many nade kills now since i dont play support that much any more.

All the replies are true. More you play, more experienced you get, and the ranks will come by themselves. Higher rank will only give you advantage when applying for commander.
The better kill to death ratio says how good you are. If it is above 1 you are doing a good job.

K/D is importand but I think SPM (score per minute) is an even better indicator for skill.

i dont think spm is to accurate... i used to havea better kd ratio than 2.5 but it went down a bit in my quest for all the veteran badges... i suck as support

but a time of medic whoring is coming so i can get expert...
with that g36e the kd ratio is bound to shoot up again hehehehe

about k/d ratio , it doesnt matter what weapon you wear while killed , but with what weapon you got killed.

Depends how many points and how many kills and deaths you have. If you have over 20,000 points with that kill/death ratio you are a pro. On few thousand points it wouldn't mater.

on a other note k/d doesnt mean ****.

someone playing as assault etc will die a lot more on the front , while chopper/planewhores make a lot more kills and die a lot less. doesnt means any of them is better lol.

Their Chopper K.D. could be 2.50 but their Assault K.D. could be 1.00. Meaning their overall K.D. is between 2.50 and 1.00.

my Kill to death ratio is exactly 1, and has been that way ever since the internet buggered up on the 18th of december - 1,725 kills and deaths.

Strange coincidence? I start to turn a profit and get screwed out of BF2 totally. not good....
