I'm one of the players who thoroughly enjoys spotting enemies or planes regardless. Many times, my comrades high above will be getting chased, and need some assistance. Spotting a moving plane makes a HUGE difference for pilots if you ask me, since it's easier to evade the oncoming attack. Yes, it can be considered spam, but not if you use it appropriately. I believe my spamming makes a difference on the battlefield, rather than causing a mess.
