Re: wat exactly do 3rd party drivers do?
Well it depends on the video card. I have an x800xl AGP and was using the cataylist 5.13 drivers. Afterwards, I installed the omega drivers and saw an increase in FPS and stabilty. Often 3rd party driver makers optimize the current drivers that makes them better than the standard driver provided by ATI and Nvidia. -
Re: wat exactly do 3rd party drivers do?
well i was referring to nvidia video cards because htey have a forceware control panel which lets u do some stuff like setting it to high performance over quality and letting u turn on trilinear optimization. mY question was, do 3rd party drivers only affect this control panel, or are there other tweaks that are hidden?Comment

Most of the tweaks are hidden. The optimzers recode the driver to use the memory controller more effciently, etc.... Sometimes 3rd party drivers may unlock special optionals like adaptive anti-aliasing.Comment
