Number 3 for a quick switch to your main weapon, Quick to pistol is helpful as well.
A switch for the gasmask and NV for SF x-pack
A switch for the views on the units such as cockpit, chase, and the two other cameras.
            Unit entry? (E)
            Sprint?
Commander/all features that involve squads and the commander screen.
            3D map switch.
            Prone and jump.
Thats about all i can think of off the top of my head

lol i AM a music guy (if you didnt notice my name). but yeah, basically all recording programs are default to the space bar as the play/stop, and why would you want it on your mouse...i mean a big ass space bar is the first thing you see and the easiest to hit after you finish a track.

but this mouse was designed for slideshows etc. like a ghetto remote or shomething.

                          Re: Useful mouse button assignments?

Wow, looks like it's got even more buttons than the MX1000 which I use.

There is a little app you might have heard of for Logitech mice called Logigamer, mentioned alot in these forums.

                          http://www.logigamer.com/

Allows you to create profiles for the mouse depending upon which application you are using, just create a profile for BF2 and point it at the BF2 .exe and it applies the profile for Logitechs Setpoint driver.

                          My setup is a follows

                          1) Tilt right mouse wheel = [3] Primary Weapon
                          2) Tilt left mouse wheel = [2] Pistol
                          3) Scroll button up = [6] Engineer wrench/shock paddles
                          4) Scroll button down = [4] Grenade/Grenade Launcher/Anti-tank
                          5) Top Thumb button = [5] Ammo/Medpack/Smoke
                          6) Middle thumb button = [1] Knife
                          7) Lower thumb button = [,] Mini map zoom mode

Having the pistol and primary weapon on the tilt wheel allows you an extremely fast weapon switch once you're used to it. It's also handy having quick and easy access to the knife.

When Special forces came along of course it brought Night vision and Gas Mask with it so assigned these to roll mouse wheel up and roll mouse wheel down.

                          Hope this helps, good luck.

Don't let the opinions in here discourage you. There's a lot of negativity here. I have the Logitech G5 mouse w/ kind of the same button config and it rocks. I was a sceptic until I'd used it for a few days. Now I love it. What I did was leave the + and - alone, those will make the mouse more or less sensitive to movement (a lot like control panel option). It's great to change it on the fly while in the game. When in jet you want to turn hard then make it real sensitive but when sniping you want it to move around a small area without being too jumpy then make it less sensitive.

I mapped left button by thumb to cockput view so if I change views while in vehicle I can quickly get back to center. My favorite is the wheel tilt right /left. I mapped left to enter vehicles and right to reload weapon. AND!! Now this is the money part! All you losers who fall out of helo when typing because you press the 'e' key??? Know the problem I mean!?!? Well, since my enter/exit is mapped to that mouse button and not to a letter anymore I can't fall out when typing.

Everyones forgotten about reload! i use push down button on mouse wheel for that, only so i can use R key for going prone, im too much of a spaz to use the mouse wheel button for prone, since im usually using one finger for shooting whenever i dolphin div... i mean go prone
