Right before anyone says anything, i got all compatible hardware to run BF2 with latest drivers. the problem is everytime i click "install" the auto run menu disappears and... NOTHING HAPPENS! what the hell is up?

so lets clarify this, you put the disk into the dvd drive, it starts up and you get the install screen , you click on the install button and nothing happens yea? -

AMD Athlon 2400+ (i think, runs at 2.1Ghz)
Ati Saphire X800 (256Mb)
Direct X 9.0 (most recently updated one)
and yes after clicking the "install" selection it just does nothing...Comment

Might have a bad copy of BF2. I had the same problem with my Half Life.Comment

Well I was going to make a new thread about this until I saw this one
Anyway, I just got Special Forces, and when I went to install it, it said that I didn't have BF2 installed (Which I obviously did, since I had just been playing it the day before). So I thought "Hmm....I'll just reinstall BF2 and see what happens."
So...I uninstalled, then went to go to re-install. I clicked the "Install" button, and....everything dissappears. I wait five minutes, and still nothing has happened. I'm at a loss...it installed just fine the first time, I can't figure out what is up.
