I got a laptop and Battlefield 2 for Christmas and...

I'M OBSESSED! Its a stunning game which I am utterly addicted to! So it all started on Christams day when i unwrapped my Amilo M1437G laptop and installed BF2. I was told that the laptop would struggle on 64 man servers and the graphics would only go to low-medium. My laptop is running it sweetly with all settings medium and AA X2 on 64 Man servers, theres a bit of lag at the start but that was expected.

So to sum it up i am utterly ecstatic about how well its running and i'd like to thank Rombaft,Wreck and others who helped me decide on the laptops!

PS The only problem is every 2 minutes or so on many servers i get the message "There is a problem with your connection" and it freezes for 2 seconds and then carries on as normal. This isnt a major problem but it is annoying when trying to pilot a helicoptor and being responsible for deaths when it freezes and i crash, lol! Anyway to solve this problem? Im using a wireless connection btw.

nope, just don't fly initially and hope whoever does, crashes because of lag :) lol

naah if you see all vehicels fly throuh the air, find another server, coz it's the problem of the admin, if not; check your ping and you internet speed (if you sort out the servers from low to high ping you have more chance of getting a good server).

if you have wirelss make sure your not positioned close to the microwave.

Thanks for replies i dont usually try to fly only fly when its necessary. I love being a minigunner in the blackhwaks just sraying stickmen and seeing that sweet white writing confirming your kill . My stats are here btw, theyre prolly crap i know but my minigun ability is alrite...

there are allot of good server just find one (not karkand cause its full of lame people trowing c4 (including ME) so my advice is just find one with low ping.

Keep it up, man. With some practice your kills will pass your deaths (I'm STILL recovering from a score like yours, which isn't bad) and then slowly dominate. My scores in game are usually like 23:10 and stuff so it rises quickly.

i am doing same with my carbine i am now like 10 kills removed till my kills are higher than my death very hard to do cause of vehicle noobs however just the c4 trowing trick and they are down in 2 secs (ownd a tank 5 times in a row to bad for him that he was a total noob driver )

Welcome as I too am hooked on this game, I'm not a great player, but I love the game anyway it is all about the fun for me as I get my ass handed to me on a regular baises.

As for your connection issue, try running on CAT5 for a couple hours and see if that helps. (I know you like playin in ya room til wee hours of the morning, but use this as a testing purpose) :)
