Weird Freezing issue

First off, heres my setup v1.1.2551 of BattleField2 dled from xfire.com

(i installed it onto the core copy of bf2)

Caintech Mobo
amd64 athalon 3000+
2GB corsair ram
ati x700 sapphire tech 256 mb
80GB seagate HD
and NEC CD-Drive rw and w/e



so, i start up, get into a server, and right when i get in, my pointer doesnt move on screen. I get live audio feedback, but it soon freezes and stop the sound. The mouse is totally unresponsive

help?

This happened to me when I used the Tweaksrus Forceware driver and tried to load BF2 with 'start /high' (i.e., making BF2 a 'high priority' app as far as Windows is concerned). It went away after I took the 'start /high' out of my start-up path for the program.

Does that sound like your situation at all? What video driver are you using?

no... not at all, im not using any tweaksrus anything.

I have the latest ATI drivers..

To elaborate more, if i dont press anything, i can hear things fine, but my mouse will not move at all, it stays in the center of the screen.


i just bought bf2 yesterday and would really like to get it owrking.
