Uninstall to RE-install... missing WAKE map

Just un installed and re installed ( SO MUCH FUN>>>>)

I am up and running but the servers list WAke in RED..... I used to play wake before...

anyone know the deal???

Hrmmms, at a guess I think I can see what's happened here. EA being typical EA, have not included the map as part of the 1.12 patch. You will have to step through the patches to bring it upto speed at a guess.

So, my sugesstion would be to try Uninstall, Install old patch, I think it got to what, 1.06? Install 1.12, and then give it a go.


Anyone else tried this process, Fresh install with 1.12 patch only?

And a guess it is.

The 1.12 patch contains everything that was in the previous patches. There is no need to install the 1.03 patch first.

It looks though that wake didn't install properly. You can check this by looking at the dates of the wake map files and compare them to the other maps.

I unistalled BF2 recently due to receiving "this server does not accept modified content, please revert back to your original version"

(or close to that)

After checking around here and other places it seems that I had corrupt game files...

Remove and Re install was the answer.....JHHAHAHAHAAH

SO here I am...

I dealt with this for 10 hours yesterday....
Unistalled
Loaded with multiple MD5 errors
Uninstalled again.
Loaded with multiple MD5 errors
researched MD5 - sometimes related to disc errors...
bought new BF2 disc.... another $50
Loaded with multiple MD5 errors
Unistalled called EA... got a "how to email"
Loaded BF2 in Safemode with a few MD5 errors.
SEarched HD for old BF2 files... deleted all of them.
Loaded BF2 with NO ERRORS... thought it was getting somewhere...whohoo
PAtched with 1.12v in safemode...

Started game, looking at multi play maps and notice WAKE in RED.
tried to get into a Single player map to adjust some settings... It loads to 59-62% and crashes to desktop repeatedly...

I have recieved a few errors...but not every time.....
memory.dll:all alloc attempts failed for size -959256382
&
memory.dll:sanity check:block size -959256382

and here we are...Im not happy..lol

I have a new HD that I have yet to install.. I Will be installing all new Software.... XP, Office, Games, Quickbooks, and several more... shortly...
That better solve the issues...

But it is great fun...:laugh:
