    Graphics on my computer

How do these pictures look? I get around 25 FPS with these settings.

Ouch, 25fps? I'd cut back on your settings some...

I only have a 512 mb ram stick. Will an additional 512 increase my FPS from 25 to 35 or even 40?

BTW, I play at 1280 x ***, rest of the stuff at medium except textures and shadows. No AA.

      Are the graphics good?

What's the point of nice graphics if the fps it too low to eaisly play. Yes the ram will help. What grapics card do you have?

          A 9600XT running at 4x AGP. My mobo doesn't support 8x.
I've pretty much got used to the low FPS.

Although you said AntiAliasing is off, I don't reckon it is. The edges in the images are *far* too smooth for AA to be off. Go into your Graphics Card program (probably an icon in desktop toolbar down near your clock) and see what it has antialiasing set to - set it to 'Application Controlled'. Then turn AA off in BF2. Cos going by the images you've got AntiAliasing set high. Turn AA off in game and see how you go. Twenty bucks says thats the problem.

You may need to invest in a new mainboard aswell - 4x AGP won't be suffice for much longer.

Also 512MB is pretty inadequate for BF2. Go to at least 1gb. 2gb is preferable :)

Yeah, you've definitely got some anti aliasing going on there, turn it off and it will boost your fps quite a bit. Or if you can't handle the jaggies, don't go higher than 2x AA.

I was thinking if my settings need more tweaking I play smooth with all on high but my resolution is 800X600 (small monitor)

AA is set to 6x in my ATI CCC and AF is set to 16x. Changed it to program controlled and the graphics look nasty. Got a pretty good frame rate though, averaged at 50 FPS.

If you get 25 fps on an empty server, it will be EXTREMELY unplayable on a 64 player server.

the jaggies are pretty bad in BF2, you can try setting AA to 2x but I wouldn't go higher than that with that card. Either live with the jaggies, accept terrible fps, or upgrade<<<<those are your three options

I get around 10-20 kills a round and I get killed 4-10 times.
