I wish they'd give people the ability to unlock equipment instead of just weaponry. Things like a infra-red scope for a sniper, a pony pottle for a spec ops, unlockable pistols, extra equipment, etc etc. Things like that would be bloody cool if implemented correctly. They've made a start throwing in flashbangs for free along with the F2000.

And, dear god.. an AWP in Battlefield 2? That'd be combining the two most annoying things in gaming history ever. A lot of people would most likely spontaneously combust.

What I'd like:
A waterpistol for the sniper that takes two bars of health. So you can tauntingly finish people off after one hit with the m95/m24 instead of using the (nice, but not very insulting) pistol.
The rpg for the AT just because it's so archaic and funny-looking.

What it's going to be:
Some tired sniper version re-hash of the g36 for the sniper, so they can recycle assets they already have.
Some tired SMG version re-hash of the g36 for the AT, so they can recycle assets they already have.

0.25 MoA, now, if programmed correctly by DICE, it'll be, for the first time ever, possible to actually take that guy out, on that hill 300m away without shooting 15 rounds.

There's a test of the rifle (dunno, perhaps it's mentioned on the site) showing how good it actually is.


Thouh I guess DICE doesn't know of the Tango :// Or any other cool, but not-so-famous rifle.

Probably the same as the other SF unlocks; you either need SF or borrow someone else's computer that has it for a few minutes.

Totally agree with those saying the sniper unlock should be the VSS 'Vintorez' Silenced Sniper Rifle.

Firstly, it's silenced. Secondly because of its relatively short range, which means the sniper can't sit on a hill a kilometer away; they can work in a squad and get in on the action. It also has a magazine that holds 10 or 20 rounds (10 being a little bit more balanced in-game).

Also its action is auto, selective fire :)

This gun absolutely OWNED in Desert Combat, especially the Basrah Nights map. I sure it will be nerfed somewhat, but if you read up on the guns capabilities, it was modelled well in the DC mod.

If it becomes the new sniper unlock, I think I will be logging some serious time with this kit soon....:) (only have 12 hours on the kit so far...)

the new sniper unlock really needs to be a m24 equivilent for the MEC and PLA kits. The SVD and '88 can be fun if used right, but really can't compete with the m24.

The VSS Vintorez is too similar to the SVD, as is the M82 to the M95.

I'm thinkin' a PSG-1 is the obvious choice.

THe PSG-1 would be too accurate most likely. Seriously, it has sub-1MOA, that is more accurate than the M24 with m118 rounds. And it's a semi-auto, that would be like an SVD, with 20 rounds, and better accuracy than the M24.

Sniper should get a laser designator that locks a tungsten rod fired from a geostationary satilite in orbit into a target unleashing 800,000,000,000 jeules of energy, obliterating anything you want (like all those dam carrier campers)

AT should get deployable sandbags, barbwire, bunkers and a barbie castle

Nice link, and YES, WAHOO, BFTV IS NOT DEAD. I always wanted BFTV, it's so much better than BF:R, can't wait for upcoming patches (not only the next one) to come out.
