Graphics card not handling what it's supposed to

Ok, so I got a GeForce 6600 GT and before I bought it I made sure to read all of the reviews on it and it said that it could handle BF2 on medium just fine. I had to set it to the absolute lowest settings available. Might it be a driver problem? =\

Full system specs please.

6600GT should be able to run medium just fine.

yeah i got a 6600 GT and my bf2 is choppy and laggy..i think my motherboard can support the voltage of my video card tho

500w (forgot the brand but its good) PSU
1GB DDR400 RAM (1 stick of Corsair and 1 stick of some weak brand lol)
XFX Geforce 6600GT 128MB (not OCed)
ASUS A7V8X-X Motherboard
Windows XP Pro (SP2)

Tell us something important first is it AGP?
if so did you plug in the extra power connector, cuz thats the most reasonable thing i can think of right now

1 GB PC3200 RAM OC'd to PC3600(At least that's what Everest calls it) running dual channel
GeForce 6600 GT
ASUS P4P800 SE mobo
Win XP Home SP1.1a

[Edit] Yeah it's AGP, but I don't have an extra power connector... What's it look like? My old AGP card didn't have one either but when I logon nVidia says I need to plug it in... I figured I just needed to up my voltage so I upped it to 1.8V.

there should be an extra one in your case, if not go buy one. AGP slots do not give enough electricity like PCI-E slots do, so an extra power connector is needed.

I also have an eVGA 6600GT 128 AGP. the power connecter is in, but it still can't run anything over standard low settings + 100% view distance =/ gets much worse on SF, with fps dropping to 3 - 5 for me =( oh well, sucks for me I guess.

no, they're almost the newest official ones from nVidia. I'm not running the newest drivers because it ends up something hard to see with. I'll put up a few screens in a min, if that's alright (of when I used the newest drivers anyway)

well, i'm using 78.01, they probably updated two or more already. and.. if you're wondering why i'm running at 12 by 10, it's because it seems to run smoother than on 10 by 7. ...i don't know why =/

something is clearly wrong wit your card... were did you get it? when? can you return it and get a new one? is it plugged in correctly? do other games run the same?

got it as a present from my cousin this summer. =/
Probably from e-bay cause he likes to shop there, so i guess returning it and getting a new one is out of the question. It should be plugged in correctly, as I've started with Geforce 4 MX440 and upgraded twice since then. I believe I know how to install a card.

Oh well, i guess it's just time to save up for a new comp that has PCI-e =/

no, other games run very smooth and fine. BF2's the only one i have problems with really.
