    Scratched BF2 disc?

I just uninstalled BF2 due to a modified content error...(I did not try to modify anything)

    After the uninstall...
I insert disc 1 only to get "MD5error" messages...
It would not load the game... AT ALL.

After looking at Disc 1 the CD was scratched... then looking at Disc 2, It too was scratched... Disc 3 is fine...

Are these just cheap ****ty disc? As I have never had another disc scratch b4.... and Disc 2&3 has been in the case since install....

So I went and bought a new game, installed it... got to disc 3 and boom... 99% installed and got that damn MD5error again..... BRAND NEW DISC.....

But it finally completed the install...

no problem with my discs. Then again, I'm pretty anal about taking care of mine. They are either in their cases, or in the CD drive on my box.

I'm pretty good with my BF2 disks, They either stay in my drive or in my cd book, but normal wear and tear from the disk being used in my drive caused BF2 not to be installed. The way I got around it, I simply burned an image of the disk and I used Daemon tools to install and to play.

Basically, you use any burning program to burn a copy of your BF2 disk to an Image (file) you save that file somewhere on your computer, and you use the program Daemon Tools to "Mount" that image. The program adds another CD drive to your "My computer" temporarily, and when the image is loaded into the program, it acts exactly like you put the disk into the computer but with out having to risk scratching your disks. This program is great for saving your disks from damage, I personally havent used my BF2 disk in about 4 months.

Take better care of your disks. Also use a mounted image to load and launch BF2.

Same here but I started using the mini-DVD image immediately after installing instead of waiting until the disc got damaged.

I got one DVD and won't ever use it, I use a mounted mini-image instead.
