how do i uninstall creative audigy 2 zs drivers! help!

i recently got the audigy 2 zs soundcard from a friend, who couldnt find the original cd and told me to download the driver from their site instead.

i downloaded the last driver 2.8 something, which works pretty good with BF2, except that grenades and vehicles more than 5 feet away are almost inaudible.

is this a known audio bug? grenades that are 5 feet away can make no sound, disadvantaging me online.

i want to install the older, non beta drivers, as they may fix the problem, but i cant find and uninstall the new one!

also, can you please tell me where i can download the THX console, which i need to configure my home theatre computer setup for surround sound nicely?

i have a feeling its still trying to run on stereo as my receiver says that.

Driver Cleaner Pro has a 'Creative' profile that you can use to wipe out all vestiges of Creative drivers.

Have you tried that?

uh i was going to download driver cleaner but it said uninstall drivers first with the control panel and i couldnt find it there.

sorry to flip flop, but now it seems that the driver works fine and the main problem is finding the THX console for download.

creative has a THX console UPDATE, but it needs an earlier version which infuriatingly is not there!

Man...I know how annoying that is. I TOTALLY scratched up my old Audigy driver disc the other day. Thank goodness I really don't need it anymore since I bought the X-Fi.

um that one says non zs, mine is an audigy 2 zs.

do you know where another one for zs is? hopefully non bittorrent, i like normal download more i guess.'

Since Creative normally SELLS them, it'll be very difficult to find one

I used an Audigy 2 install disc for my Audigy 1 with no problems..you need the apps installed so that they can be updated...you're not using the drivers or anything.

hmm could you maybe send me just the thxconsole exe from that cd, cause i dont use bittorrent and stuff and im not even sure that that would work, given that it says non zs.

thanks for all the help though, i really appreciate it. why would creative selll their cds alone though? just to people who have lost it or scratched it?

If you take a look in the soundcard section at www.driverheaven.net you might find the Audigy2 ZS ISO file there. If not there is also a modded Audigy4 ISO that you can use on your card. I use it myself and I have a regular Audigy2.

Instead of using driver cleaner to get rid of old drivers you can also download the driver you want to install, unpack it with winrar and go into the \Drivers\support\i386\ folder. There you will find a file called ctzapxx.exe. If you start that you will get the option to uninstall any previous driver before you install the new one.

uh, thanks for the help but i couldnt find the ISO audigy 2 zs or the AUDIGY 4 ISO modded one.

could you maybe gimme a link to the audigy 4 one? id like to try it out.

also, my drivers werent in rar or zip form, they were just in .exe, so how can i do that uninstall thingie?

i think the driver is ok, its actually the THX console i want, which normally is installed from the disc i dont have.
