    Problem 'Connecting To Account Server'

Hi, since christmas day I havn't been able to play BF2 (or BF2:SF) online, this is the problem:

Start up game> click 'log in'> box comes up 'Connecting To Account Server' (with a loading mouse cursor).
Then this will stay there indefinately.

I have tried uninstalling BF2 and BF2:SF, installing BF2, installing BF2:SF (which 'patches to version 1.1') and the installing the 112 patch.

I ask here becuase 'EA's call centers are not staffed over the Christmas period'
If anyone else has had this problem please let me know, otherwise any help or suggestions would be much appriciated, thanks!

Are you sure you're nothing else is hogging up your bandwith? That's usually the case. I've played BF2 fine the last few days so I don't think it's a problem with EA.

Nope, I've tried shutting all other bandwidth-using apps down, Steam and countrer-strike work fine (normal ping/lag etc)

How long is indefinitely? It once took me 20 minutes to log in. Check the ports needed open on the firewall.

Indefinitely really is forever, ie: 'not responding' in task manager, I left it for over an hour once and still nothing.

I am currently trying to make sure the ports are unblocked (shown here). But earlier on Christmas day it worked fine, then I quit and tried later, and hence the problem. Initially I thought it could be EA that's down, and there's no-one in to fix it over xmas, but it doesn't look like other people have the problem, btw I'm in the UK

I've also tried turning windows firewall off, which didn't work, and resetting my modem and router.
