I am about to buy a Visiontek X850XT PE AGP but my main reason for getting it is because i want to run bf2 at high settings without lag my system spec are
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.1GHz
1536mb of OCZ DDR
X850XT PE AGP 8x
40GB Maxtor HD
Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-7N400-L

I dont understand your question !?

I have a x800xt-pe (p4 3.2, 2g corsair pro, 74g raptor) and run everything on high with no AA. no problems.

oh man you have to use AA in this game. I hate jaggies so I run it at 2xFSAA makes a world of difference!

thanks for the suggestion but i only really have enough for a video card and i doubt they make a AMD 64 for a Socket A mobo and i dont want to go out and buy a whole new motherboard and cpu and video card just to run bf2 at high, i mean i only want the the stuff like shadows and terrain and geometry and effects to go up and keep it at may'be 1024x768 and no FSAA or Dynamic lighting so what about that?

Like the others have said, your processor will be the bottleneck. You shuld still be able to run alot of the settings on high, but i'd be surprised if an XP2800+ will be happy about everything on high with AA as well.

I agree, you're gonna need a better processor. I had a 2500 barton running 2400 mhz b4 with an x800pro visiontek and i couldnt get my benchmarks any higher than i could do with a 5900xt. I built a 64 system on a 754 mobo and nearly doubled my benchies and game play with the x800pro.

thanks and it does seem as you guys have said, Im going to need to get a new mobo and processor so what mobo and processor do you recommend? my budget is like $200-$300 so any suggestions would be great again!

Hey what kind of motherboard should i get with a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ and if i do get a X850XT should i just get a PCI-E mobo and get a hella good Video Card???????????????????????:evil:

ok i am looking at getting a Abit A8N and an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ socket 939 and XFX Geforce 7800GT for like $672 but im going to need to save up for it for like 2 months

One of the biggest rubs against BF2 is its ability to use ungodly amounts of processing power. I think its a failure in the respect. Still love the game, but, unfortunatly for many out there, the computers they have, they may be just fine for anything, including world domination, those people will find themselves in the same situation, unable to run the game full tilt, without major upgrades. Still, with what you have, a new graphics card will certainly help. You will just have to experiment with the settings. Leave AA and Anisotropic settings off. You should be fine.
