Why does everyone love Ghost Town?

If you ask me this is the worst map in SF. It is a gaint leap back and basically destroys everything SF was made for. There is no cover from artillery or helis, you need to hop around like you are playing UT to avoid getting sniped, and it is, of course, a grim reminder of the supierority of the black hawk.

So why? Why? Are you guys all chopper whores?

HUH, What????? No hiding places?? Are you talking about the same Ghost town Ive played on?? Buildings everywhere to hide, corners, high buildings, creeks to hide in. I have no problem staying alive with snipers and choper whores

You may be able to hide from them, but you certainly can't take cover from them. I mean, under any of those creeks there are nearby oilrigs and such which a sniper can easily get onto. And, of course, a heli can go anywhere it pleases as long as it isn't blocked by a passage smaller than itself, so it can easily lower itself under any bridge.

Think about maps like Surge, the command center has some REAL cover from helis and artillery.

lmao, Ghost Town is certainly a good map. The Black Hawk isn't used often by whores ( :p ) and there are tons of good hiding places. It's a real feast for snipers and medics with the L85A1 (like me), but it's also a great map for any other infantry player and for those who like to fly around a bit with choppers. Also, if you haven't noticed, Ghost Town is packed with Anti-Air creating a nice balance.

Hahhahahahahahahahaha. Thanks for the laugh man. But in all honesty, Ghost Town is one of the best new maps they put out. I do think its funny that you think there is no where to hide on that map. You must be one of those guys hopping all around on the ground as I shoot you from the tops of buildings. Oh yeah, and about the snipers. I find that a nice knife in the kidney while they lay down is a good deterent to them. After knifing the same guy like three times last night, he started going antitank. Hahahahahahhaha, I love this game.

Oh c'mon, everyone who uses that "counter snipers with a knife/shotgun" knows that argument is flawed. The knife/shotgun work great when you sneak behind ANYONE (as does any weapon). It is getting behind them that is the hard part.

A hiding place can be easily revealed by UAV (and if you've ever played commander you'd know, in the 32 player version, you can reveal just about everyone on the map with a single UAV deployment), what matters in a map is COVER from things, not places to "hide" from them.

I didn't even mention the n00b tubing.

It's so fun!!! But never snipe on it. No point really. Better to be Spec-Ops and shoot at a sniper if you see one. For some reason they stand out SO MUCH on this map.

Haven't had problems with the map, and next to warlord, it's my fav. The thing is, snipers are easy to counter in that level (for me anyways). Once you play the map for awhile you get to know where most snipers like to stay, and that leaves me with some fun sniper hunting. It's true that you are mostly F'd if a sniper spots you, but they are still easy to get away from, If you hear a bullet miss you, run into the nearest alley way, then look up on the roofs that are by you to see anyone looking down at you. The thing you really need to do is keep moving and keep your movement random! A sniper is most likely to lose interest as you keep moving and he/she can't hit you.

For artillary, I never ran into any problems try to get away from them, just run up to the closest building, or anything that your close by that sticks farther up in the air then you. The artillary will most likely hit that and barely hurt you. I do that all the time and I prob live 4 out of 5 times.

Okay, good, glad to see such a well put toghether post. I've always relied on cielings to protect me from artillery. However, my point about the helis remains. I, personally, haven't had problems with heli's. Most of the time, they are just flying out side the city picking people off on the far roofs. But if you do get a heli harrashing you, just become anti-tank, and nail it with a rocket. You'll either A- damage the heli a lot, or B- Kill the gunners/soldiers with in the heli. Trust me, this works, I use to use this a lot with the flag skippers.

Yep, I got HATE towards hinds from that map. Yeah loads of AA guns but also loads of oil rigs to mess up the lock.

Everybody likes ghost town cause it's all urban. People didn't want all the ziplines and stuff in SF, they jsut wanted omore city maps like Karkand and Mashtuur. They don't want teamwork, just constant fragging and the gaining of global points.

Once on Ghost town, we were a squad with 1 tank, 1 AA and 1 APC. We were all engineers so we repaired ourself all the time, that was great fun!
