Please help. Can't find CD KEY

Hi, I just tried to patch to 112 and now it shows the BF2 splash screen and goes right to desktop. So, I want to try and re-install but Can't find my key!

I have the PC DVD ROM version and someone said it's on the manual? I don't have a manual that I can remember. Anyone know where I can get my key. :cry:

For me, it was on the back page of my manual.

so how did you install the game originaly without a cd key? you must have had a manual originaly.....so i would do as Talus says and start looking

Well, what version are you running?

Earlier versions did not encrypt the Cd key and you could retrieve it from the registry.

WOW, thanks for the fast response guys. I just found my manual! Now, for my next question. If I re-install the game will I loose all my stats and the weapons I've unlocked? Thank you!

no. once you have reinstalled open up the game and click on the retrieve account button...put in you id and password and your away

Excellent. Thanks a lot SgT.uK. Time to re-install and see if I can get back into some BF2 action! Been well over 1 month and I need my fix!

Sorry one last question. Can I just do a fresh install and patch right to 112 or do I need to do the previous 1.3 patch first? Thanks again and sorry for all the Q's.

I'm having a similar issue, only I can't find the CD KEY to the normal CD version :cry: I look at the back page of the manual and all I see is an add for a sound card

Your CD Key might be located in the registry but I'm not sure. I was told older versions show it here [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc]. I looked in there and their is an entry in my registry but I don't see my KEY. Good luck on finding yours as I know its very frustrating. I'm going to try a full re-install now.

NO you don't need to install 1.03, 1.12 is a cumulative patch.

Well, the backstory was I was installing it on a completely new computer, so I didnt have the registry, however I did find it. For anyone else with this problem, Look at the back of your manual, it's at the top.

BF2 installation says, lower back left of the box :hmm:

Look on the actual back cover, the outside, mine was at the bottom, but for US peoplr it is at the top.
