MEC SF medics with AK-47s?

I was playing on an iron gator server last night as a seal. I have a habit of picking up kits, beacuse they would have SF weapons on vanilla maps before i had SF, so i killed this guy and picked up his kit. low and behold what do i see, an AK-47, he also had shockpaddles and a med pack. I could of swarn that the AK-101 was the standard MEC medic rifle. Whats going on, i'm going to post pics tommorow, (i'm not on my BF computer now). Caio

AK47 is the standard MECSF medic rifle, but the Ak101 is the standard MEC rifle.

Should be the opposite, the AK-101 is more modern and accurate and suitable for special forces. AK-47 is more rugged and suited for standard MEC.

I think the AK47 was thrown in simply to give more flavor to the MECSF. Give them a few different weapons. Which is a welcome change, in my opinion. Fun having a few choice between weapons between Assault/Medic.
