M95 Accuracy

Hey. I was wondering if you guys noticed any change in the accuracy of the M95 in SF. In BF2 original, I could miss headshots from 15 meters, but in my last session in Warlord, I tried it for the first time in the expansion, and damn, it seemed much more accurate. Did they change the accuracy of the gun/deviation of the bullet, or is it just me?

No it has always been this accurate, theres nothing wrong with the gun, its accurate right up to where infantry are not drawn, and then some. Thats why I have been trying to get across for awhile, that and the larger bullet drop on the rifle(remember those M95 Bullet drop videos, those where me).

Yah anyways, for 1.2 they say there tweeking sniper accuracy, this so far sounds like there stepping it up a notch, but who knows, video game companies love to nerf things even more.

I find it's still completely random.

Sometimes I get headshots on people who're almost beyond visual range, and like a minute later it misses someone who's standing like 20 meters away from me.

That was the worst unlock I got(imo)
The reload time is insanely slow also.

Sometimes I get headshots on people who're almost beyond visual range, and like a minute later it misses someone who's standing like 20 meters away from me.

Ah that depends on how you use it... If your running, and then see an enemy, stop, and then drop and then fire, you probley wont hit them, cuz you need a extra 2 seconds for the crosshairs to close in and get complete accuracy.

Yeah, the M95 rifle in BF is really a shame to it's name. I find that the M24 is still the most deadly sniper rifle. With that rifle you can make headshots at any range without any difficulties. Most of the time I rather use the SVD than the M95; it's so much easier to get a headshot with the SVD at long range, especially because it's semi-automatic.

sit somewhere where you can zoom in on the cockpit and wait. soon as fool jumps in and gets ready to lift.. POP! two kills a lot of times too. (gunner)

I've noticed this too, and sniper is (by a very large margin) my least used class. You'd think stuff like this would be common knowledge by now.

I think, even from a stationary position (i.e. not pressing the a,s,w, and d keys), changing your aim (i.e. moving the mouse) might have a brief negative impact on accuracy too, but I can't prove this.

Yea..as you move the rifle while in scope the crosshairs (If you could see them) would expand outwards ever so slightly...
Just move the mouse very slowly...

Just take standing targets... Not moving ones, Because chances are your going to miss them shot after shot..
Only moving targets you can hit, are probley ones running exactly towards you postion or away.

Although I did score this pretty neat shot on a Black Hawk gunner while it was in flight.

I got used to the M95 and I think I can call myself a decent sniper, but a few days ago out of sheer boredom I drew the M24 for a bit just to see the difference.

It's abysmal.

The M24 is way more accuracy, those 0.01 less of deviation make a huge difference. I got used to going prone, waiting a second and firing with the M95, but with the M24 this technique is deadly. If you compensate the distance and angle (from above you should aim below the target, for below you should aim above the target, how much depends on the distance) it's almost always a sure shot.
