Let...me...go...slower. I want to EARN the badge. As a sniper, I expect to earn it shooting the sniper rifle. Similarly, I wouldn't expect the badge using my pistol or using a knife.Originally posted by ICPO
What's confusing to me is that other people are telling me my points gained as a commander are the result of how my team does and not what I do with arty. By implication, this means I dont get "kills" as a commander (or TKs), but I get a badge...based on kills I dont officially get.

I think his point is you can get the badges and medals by not earning them. I have a problem with that also. I think that if it says 20 kills to vetren frog man then D***it you should have to actually do the frog man thing and get 20 kills, not spawn as a frog man, jump into jet and bomb the heck outta ground pounders and get it that way. Thats why I say there should be a pilot class. I think you should get it by spawning as a class of your choice and then when you enter the air craft you become pilot and all the points you score there count toward your airman medals and go to your pilot class stats and not count toward the class that you spawned as. Same goes for commander. IMO its a serious problem.
While Im at it, how in the world does anyone think that the jet pilot can win the game for the team? What kinda dope you been smokin? How many flags can a jet pilot cap? How many jet pilots have played games and gotten flag defense points? Have you ever noticed that jet pilots get a lot of team kills? Hey jet pilots heres a bird for ya, fly this one (holds up a hand with a certin finger extended).....How did I get off on that rant? Anyway......RedComment

Kills with arty are reorded although you do not get points from them. If you waste 20 people with arty in1 round then it will still show up those kills in your stats.Originally posted by Boojie
You got the vet sniper badge ebcause ypu must have already had the 10 hour requirement and killed 15 people with arty in that round, hence the award.

The exact same thing happened to me too.
Yep, ive never cared much or nothing at all for the awards but veteran sniper i wanted to earn. Bah playing as a sniper and artying people. Ridicilous. Wonder what moron thought that one up. The awards system had potential though, the medals are shiney, although to much of the awards are time required like you have to play for several hundreds of hours for the expert ones. what is that, its the skill of the shooter that counts, i dont wanna play 100 hours of sniper so i can get some badge thats not very hard to get skill like.
I wish i could reset the damn badge and do it the proper way with m24 (hey i got an idea, im gonna do the requirements anyway and pretend i got it the way i wanted)Comment
