I can't speak for everyone but what I personally hate about "whores" is their attitude and how they play. Someone that continually uses a Tank, APC, Attack Helo or Jet isn't always a "whore". It's the people who don't do anything else even if they can't get their favoured vehicle, they will stand around and wait for it.
This often goes hand in hand with them thinking they are top stuff because they get good kill:death ratios. You don't have to be a good player to kick arse in the vehicles I listed earlier, almost anyone can kick arse in them. I'm not saying everyone who uses vehicles has no skill either, since there are players who are exceptionally good in all of these vehicles, just that even a very average player can be effective in the right vehicle.
Even worse is that most of these players don't do much good for the team. They often don't help capture or defend flags and will run away form dangerous situation when they are needed most. Or one of my personal favourite is when my teams jet pilot avoids the oponents jet rather than trying to take it out or at least keep it occupied. Even though if they die they will be able to almost immediately get back in the vehicle that just got destroyed.
So to sum that all up a vehicle "whore" is someone who doesn't do anything but use their chosen vehicle(s), thinks they are top **** because of this and plays in a selfish manner. These people are the ones that I personally get angry at not someone who happens to use vehicles whenever they can and be good at it.
