I recently upgraded my video card from a Radeon 9700 to a GeForce 6800 (with a 16x6 unlock). According to reviews on NewEgg, and in fact according to my own experience, BF2 has some problems with this card performance-wise, perhaps due to the latest patch (1.12). Apparently one can only run the game on medium settings at 1024x768, and this is in fact what has happened. I looked on an earlier forum and there were numerous glowing reviews about the 6800's performance. My computer is not that great, granted, but with the 9700 I was able to run everything on medium with 2xAA just like with the GeForce, the only difference being I run it now at 1024x768.
So, is this to be expected? I figured I'd get a more considerable perfomance increase with the upgrade. Or are there in fact some problems with the 6800 series (texture issues when put on high, apparently).
