Do any of the new ATI drivers solve the NVG "ghosting feature" on SF night maps?

    Hi all,

Have any of you tried any of the new ATI drivers (i.e. wikidone posted two links in previous threads--NGO optimized ATI drivers and ATI "Christmas edition" drivers)?

Have any of you tried them with SF on NVG-enabled maps? Do they work?

Really appreciate any input you all have. I rolled back to 5.11 from 5.12 because 5.12 x'd up my NVG, in spite of some modest FPS gains.

    Thanks in advance.

    The Megawhomper (too).

You should do some research for yourself. read the threads.

5.13 Extreme fixed sorted that problem. See the thread in SF forum for details.

I just put the ATI drivers you are refferring to on my system and I must say they are actually pretty nice. I have not noticed any change in the hazy effect with night vision on, but these are still pretty godd drivers. Like the others have posted, the FPS increased slightly, but since mine already runs around 50-70 fps (after much hard work) it didn't really matter much.

Oh yeah, I recently had my computer crash on me with BSOD and other problems. I said "screw this, its time for a fresh win xp install". I had heard that some people with audigy 2 cards had been having problems with the game runny badly. I too was having a problem with my game running poorly (20-30 fps with settings to low) so when i reinstalled windows I did not install the sound card. Loaded bf2 and set up my settings to all medium and 2 x AA, low and behold I was getting 50-70 fps. My next step was to install the sound card and drivers. I used the drivers that came with my sound card and did not update my drivers on the internet. What do you know it worked great, and my EAX even worked. I upgraded my drivers from the website, poopoo performace.

So I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but since people are still trying to figure out why their game runs bad, this may be something to try instead of going crazy with all the new drivers people come out with. Oh yeah, and again, I have nothing bad to say about these tweaked ATI drivers.

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to know (without digging through pages of forum posts/replies/flame wars/NVIDIA RULEZ...NO ATI RULEZ/yada, yada, yada).

          Much appreciated. Happy trails.
