I just played BF2.

Ok, I did well for my first day but my k:d ratio wasn't as good as I would like it to be, I did kill alot of people. I played online and captured alot of flags too and am a good helicopter gunner(use tv missles for all vehicles). i found a lot of low ping servers so I didn't get much lag. A good day. Unfortuantely(sp?), I did not find any ranked servers therefore I didn't get any medals nor did I get closer to the next rank. I turned on the rank filter so I could only see ranked servers but nothing came up. Can anyone tell me where I can find ranked servers?

um. . . ranked servers are really easy to find, i know when I installed BF2 the ranked server option was one that was checked by default in the multiplayer screen. . . if it's not, check the box. . . if all the servers disapear, you've fallen victim to the checkbox bug, just make sure only 6 of the checkboxes are selected. . and it'll work fine.

welcome to bf2. Also welcome to one crappy server brouser lol. As they said...make sure...well I have found you have to play with it. Currently, I only have the "ranked" and "same version" box checked, and I get several thousand servers. I know though if i was to add another filter or something like that, I'd get zero. Just have to find one that works, but just be sure to have those two checked

The BF2 Server browser works in mysterious ways, if you have more then options highlighed nothing will show up but if you uncheck one you will find tons of servers, and remember the more specific you are the less results you will get

Also all ranked servers have a distinguishing corporal rank insignia off to the left of the server name. Hope that helps,Punisher

Good point...

Also in the browser, check whatever you like then if the list goes blank just quit BF2 and load it up again. The selected filters will now be applied and you should get a list of servers...

That is correct. I discovered that by accident. If you change your selection in the browser filter you have to restart BF2 to get any servers to show up. I would try adding ranked servers only, same version only, and dont show empty servers. You dont want to select a server and after waiting for it to load discover that you cant play because "the game will start when 8 more players join " or something like that. Good luck.....Red

No I am waiting for the next patch so I can get rid of the bunny hoppers(already ran into them) so I don't have any patches.

If you won't update then you won't be finding any ranked servers.

I found one and it's an EA server. Ranked of course. It is always full. I will try to download the patch. How do you download the patch and do I just download it and it automatically goes to my bf2 folder? I need answers.

Just download it to your desktop and run it. Make sure you have at least 3 gigs of free space on your C: harddrive because otherwise the patch wont work.
