    Crashing in SF

Hi. My 1st post here.. been searching alot of forums about a solution to my problem. my comp specs are ati 9800 pro amd 3200+ 1gig 3200 ram 2 80 gig hard drives and sounblaster zs... about a month ago I started getting random reboots and mostly @ maps like surge and mass destruction. I tried installing differnt ati drivers and sound blaster drives but nothing. I used to have a similar problem in bf2 so I just underclcoked my cpu and it worked.. here it doesn't, it still crashes. I could be playing 2nd round out of 3 and it would just crash. extremely annoying. anyone have this or know how to fix this. thanks in advance.

I dont think there is a fix out there for these random crahses except for old drivers, which youve said you have updated, maybe just a nice reinstall of the game will fix this, not sure though, welcome to the forums btw

SF has serious stability and performance problems for many people. It doesn't seem to matter what sort of computer they are running it on. Although random reboots sound like a problem with your computer I wouldn't put it past SF to be causing the problems. I assume you don't have these problems with any other games. I know this isn't much help but simply wait for the next patch to come out and hope that solves the problems. It's what I'm doing.

I agree with the game not being optimized.. iron gator with 64 players is unplayble... its wierd, its just the 2 maps that cause it. all night maps are fine, its like when i get to mass destruction, I'm not playing because I know the comp is going to reboot. bah. guess going to have to wait for patch and hopefully it gets fixed and for now, I should just avoid those 2 map.. and btw they are the best maps in my opinion.

          Re: Crashing in SF

I know how you feel. I don't currently play SF since it only runs properly about 25% of the time that I try to play. Half the time it won't load or will crash just after it finishes loading and the other 25% of the time it lags badly. It ****es me off no end that I've paid for something that I pretty much can't play. Hopefully it's patched soon and with some luck the patch will fix most of the problems. Your problem does sound a little strange but honestly I would say that it is probably just another problem with SF.

slightly off-topic here though. can anyone confirm that you need 1000 flashbangs total for the veteran badge or post a link that someone has it.
also, is there like a counter out there that show how many times you deployed the hook/zipline/flashbang?

My friend has no problems with the game crashing on him. But for me it crashes all the time. Same computer, same game, just different players. It's annoying, and I don't think the patch will fix it. It's the game.

                  Re: Crashing in SF

BF2 and especially SF are always unstable....random crashes are common, just curse at your monitor and reload the game.

                    Re: Crashing in SF

YUP -BF2 and especially SF are just unstable full stop. SF programming is shocking and for me ... an unfinished release, its a common problem with a lot of games nowadays
