Low dpi in Battlefield 2, but not in Counter Strike?

I have an MX518, a very popular gaming mouse. It works perfect in Counter Strike. High dpi, smooth, easy to make small movements.

However, in Battlefield 2, my dpi is horrible. It's impossible to make small movements. I have tried changing the sensitivity, and that doesn't help.

How can I fix this? I have my dpi on highest in BF2 and CS, and it only messes up in BF2. I have nothing set in Advanced settings in my logitech drivers, so it should be the same in all games.

I tried uninstalling old drivers and installing the newest drivers, but that didn't work either. I tried with the mouse plugged in to the USB port, then the PS/2 regular ol' mouse port, but I had the problem with both.

BF2 and CS are 2 different games and the way they handle the mouse is most likely different too. Even though BF2 is a step forward from BF1942 (which was pretty awful quite frankly) it's far from perfect. I'm lefthanded so I use the MX310. I get pretty good control by using the following setup in the mouse driver: In the motion tab I have selected the "Disable acceleration in games" option, Acceleration is set to No, Speed is set 4 notches in from left. In BF2 I have the mouse speed set at 0.7. This is rather slow but it gives me good control with the snipers.

If you switch to the PS2 port you will reduce the number of updates of the mouse movement. PS2 = 60 updates per second, USB about 125. regardless of the "dpi" of the mouse that's the number of updates that reach your pc through the USB port. Imho one of the most important features of the Logitech is that the optics is fast enough to catch any movement you make with the mouse. The older optical mice would simply loose it if you moved the rist too fast.

I have sensitivity in the exact middle, no acceleration (cpl mouse fix a while ago anyway, so it was already no acceleration), no game detection.

Highest dpi setting is 1600 (using the + and - buttons), middle is 1000, lowest is 400.

        I have the latest drivers.

I've tried PS/2 ports and the USB ports. Neither helped it. But thanks for telling me that, I will use USB from now on.

My friend has an MX518, and his works fine in BF2. Our graphics and mouse settings are nearly identical, and our computers are identical for the most part.

The reason I mentioned CS is because I just wanted to prove the mouse was capable of good dpi and small movements, (in windows too), but for some reason in BF2 it doesn't.

yeah the mouse sensetivity sucks in BF2, someone told me you had to lower the mouse speed or something to get it working half decent, but it works very differently from CS... its a very blocky movement, especially when zoomed in with a rifle

              Well,
here is my two cents. I have the mx518 and I love it. Just curious, but have you gone into the setpoint program and set bf2 to be identified by the mouse? When I reinstall windows I almost always forget to install the mouse software, and I have the same problem that you have. If you go into setpoint and change the game options to identify bf2 as a program to use the mouse it should work. Don't forget that you must also set each individual setting. For reference, mine is set :1600, 1400, 1200, 800, 600 dpi. I pretty much use the 1600 dpi all the time, it just takes some time to get use to it. Hope this helps.

Not sure what im missing here but do you have your sensitivity in the middle?
You should have it far left if you want it to be low.
