    Lag....

well... i've lived with it for a while now, but its becoming frustrating when i'm flying, heavy firefight, etc. it only happens bout 4-8 times in around, lag spikes and i dont know whats causing it. its not just bf2, its other games that i have too like AA , ET... etc. This gets really annoying everytime i start bf2, and try to connect to a server, but the "connecting to server" box just stays there about 15 secs later saying "connection to server lost", than i have to try again, but it always works the second time. my FPS is good solid 30-99... but my ping is what worries me. On most servers i get 40's-60's ping,(not any lower dunno why, used to get low ping like 20's or so on when the demo came out demo..). I can live with this speed, but the spikes get annoying.

i should be gettin 30's ping on this server too... i live on the east coast, and this server IS from the east coast.

Edit: i've seen ppl mention pingplotter to see what the problem is, will this help me at all?
oh... almost forgot.. yes i run virus scans most of the time, and also use spybot S&D

          Re: Lag....

Run pingplotter doing a trace to the server you're on in the background while you're playing and see if the lag shows are REAL.

Monitor latency, packet loss, and jitter. Plot results on an infinite timeline. Find the source of problems. Share the evidence.

If the lag spikes are showing up in Ping Plotter...you can find out WHERE they are occurring.

They are probably not occurring anywhere near your end.
