do I need to spend more money to get it right?

Ok I don't know what the hell is goin on caus I am getting to the point of stop playing this damn game. It makes a real small difference in performance whether i reduce graphics settings or if I play on multiplayer or singleplayer. what the hell kind of game is this? The funny thing is I notice the frames go up to 70s then drop to 20s every 5 seconds  Now I was wondering if my computer is too weak for this game. I've tried installing different drivers as well but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx!

    SYSTEM:
    Amd 64 3500, bfg7800GT O/C, 2GB dual channel geil memory, Lanparty NF4 mobo.

Are you properly installing and uninstalling the drivers? Is your computer completely filled with spyware and adware? Is your PSU sufficient?

Read the topic about BF2 Lag and visit that link and follow those tips. You shouldn't be having any problems.

Run a few benchmarks to see how that goes. If they are on par for what your system should be producing, you know it's BF2 related.

defrag your HD , the droppings are most likely caused by swapping

Well I go to control panel to uninstall the drivers, but they are still there in C drive, under Nvidia folder. however when i check Display Properties, it shows what I have newly installed(77.77), which is fine but i dont know why those old drivers still show. I have 500W power supply. I dont think there is any spyware or such. I use Spybotbot search and destroy every now and then. The thing I don't get is I play F.E.A.R which is a high end game in terms of graphics on everything high, 4X anti-aliasing,16X anistropic filtering, 1440X900 resolution, with shadows turned off, and i get between 30-70 FPS. So I am sure it is not my rig.
